About the club
Cyprus International Sailing Club
- CISC was established 2017 by active sailing enthusiasts, who take part in all club activities, sailing, racing, teaching beginners.
- 5 years in a row (2018-2022) the Club is recognized by Cyprus Sailing Federation as THE BEST OFFSHORE SAILING CLUB IN CYPRUS.
- Club is constantly growing its community and currently has more than 150 active members. - Hundrets of people, who came to the Club as begginers, passed racing or skippers courses, now are participants of various championships and international regattas, as well as they become skippers, boat owners.
- Fleet of 15 one design FAREAST 28R yachts, build 2017-2023, located in best operating Marina in Cyprus – Limassol Marina. Pier opposite TGI Friday's.
- Half of the boats were purchased by various Companies for their employers corporate sailing activities and to the teams for all year round sailing. Join.
- FAREAST 28R is a modern design 28 feet yacht, fast and safe, best for learning how to sail, for day trips or racing. It was included in the list of boats choosen for the new Olympic discipline named "Mixed Two Person Offshore Keelboat", may be selected for the Paris 2024 games. It was also choosen as "Boat of the Year Overall Winner" in 2016, Sailing World award.
- Cyprus has unique weather conditions: never-ending sailing season, 340 sunny days per year, 90% windy. There are 2 international airports with direct flight to 30+ countries.
- Various professional teams including olympic and match racing sailors choose Cyprus as their winter training base.
- We have also 40' performance cruiser yachts, representing our club in local and international races and available for skippers courses and miles building.
- We have team of dinghy sailors (Optimist and Laser), representing our club in national and international championships.
- We are accredited as IYT Worldwide partner school and offer "become a skipper" full roadmap:
1) Sailing introduction course
2) 4 days IYT Dayskipper / Crew Sail + VHF 4 days weekend course, for yacht length <10mtrs.
3) 200 miles building on various types of boats

ABout the course
The first and the only offshore racing courses in Cyprus with its mono fleet and experienced coaches in the beautiful Limassol Marina.
The course is suitable as for beginners and those who would like to refresh their knowledge as for progressive sailors, who are already familiar with the sail.
* After passing the course, you will receive a certificate from our club, about the successful completion of the course (only for four-days sailing course). To obtain international certificates — additional training is required.

4 weekend days
The course takes place in one of the weekend day: 6 hours a day, of which 2 hours of theory and 4 hours of practice.
8 theoretical hours
4 theoretical lessons for 2 hours each, classes are held on a yacht in Limassol Marina
16 sailing hours
4 practical lessons for 3-4 hours at the sea, 3 days of them - in the race mode on the FAREAST 28R yachts, practice immediately after theory.
5 participants
The maximum amount of participants are 5-6 persons, this guarantees maximum attention to each team participant.

Course Program
The course is suitable as for beginners and those who would like to refresh their knowledge. Dates of the course will be set up as soon as the group will be 4 people — a course enrollment is open.

First lesson: basic information
Time: 10:00–15:00
On the first day you will learn:
— terminology and basic information,
— basic settings of the yacht for different courses and directions,
— learn how to determine the center of sail and general yacht balance concepts,
—consider the basics of team management,
— learn how to prepare the boat for races,
— learn about the roles and functions in the crew.

On the second session, you will learn how to set up and work with sails.

A modern racing yacht that can reach speeds of more than 20 knots on full courses. The yachts are not afraid of strong winds and already glides with 14 knots (slides on water). Winner in the nomination "Boat of the Year 2016".
